Generic Drugs & Savings

A product should be judged by its efficiency, not by its name. The generic drugs are not given a specific name as a branded one but they can be as effective as their branded counterpart. The best part about generics is their cheaper price tag. It makes them affordable and reachable for everyone. In today’s world, everything has become very expensive. To avail proper medical help requires a whole lot of money. The skyrocketing price of prescription medicines is giving nightmares to people hailing from poor segment of society. A lot of people are not in a position to go for branded drugs due to financial constraints. Prescription drugs are a costly medical affair for older and chronically ill people as well. In this regard, a generic substitute of a branded version can help them meet their medical demands without making any compromise on health. Its usage can help in saving money and the continuation of ongoing treatment for terminally ill patients. Depending on your prescription needs, your savings could be significant.

The major difference between a generic and branded version is in its name and price. A generic drug is known by its chemical name whereas a manufacturer assigns a brand name. Both the products are made of the same ingredients. It is generically equivalent to its brand-name counterpart. It means, it contains the same active ingredients, strength, and dosage form—pill, liquid, or injection. It is normally the same chemically and has the same medical effect. Apart from name, everything is similar between both of them.

So, if you are in need of medication but don’t have the money for prescription drugs then worry no more because you can easily opt for its generic version. Believe me; it will not do any harm to your health as it’s approved after rigorous trials for the safety of its users.
