Do you recall when accesorizing in the car meant having sheepskin seatcovers?  These days, accessories have come a long way.

Automotive options in today's world are the wave of the future.

The most exciting car accessory as far as I can see is the Global Positioning System.  The reason I like the GPS system is because I get lost a lot.  I hate not knowing where I am.  It's very emasculating for me when I don't feel like I'm in charge of the directions.  A GPS system would change all that for me.

With a GPS system I could go on road trips without a navigator.  I wouldn't need some kno-it-all in the passenger seat telling me about which road to take or what the map says.  Plus the GPS never needs to take extra bathroom breaks!

I sometimes see people with DVD players in their cars.  Often these DVD players go in the back seat for the little three and five year olds to watch.  Of course, if I tailgate the van in front of me, I might catch a bit of the cartoon myself.  Sometimes I wonder if we've gone too far with technology.  Can't the kids just sit quietly in the car for a while?

Do you love listening to punk rock or heavy metal?  I think satelite radio is the best way to hear all your favorites whether you're four-wheelin' in the woods or in the city.  What a fun car accessory!  It's like a toy for grown-ups!

My car exterior really takes advantage of new automotive accessory technology.  My flashing rims and glowing undercarriage really set the tone for a night of driving down Main Street.  I sure am a wild one and it shows!

The scary part about auto accessories is that these cars have become more like traveling homes than vehicles.  Some SUVs even have mini-tents that extend out the back of the car!  Pretty soon we may start renting small cars rather than apartments!

But seriously, it is exciting to see how far automotive accessories come so far.  I am looking forward to seeing how the technology will change in the next ten years.  Fasten your seat belts!
