An ATV Tire Blow-Out When You're Riding

Having an ATV tire blow out while you are riding your ATV is certainly something that you do not want to happen. Even if the tire blow out doesn't result in much damage to either yourself or your ATV, it is still something that you don't want to experience. But sometimes, the unpredictable happens to your ATV tire, and there is nothing you can do but react properly. In this article we will discuss how to do just that.

When your ATV tire blows out, it is very important that you react in the safest manner. One common mistake that many ATV riders make when they have a tire blow out is that they stomp on the brakes. While this is an understandable reaction, this is not what you should do in this situation. Slamming down on your ATV's brakes will possibly make the tires swerve into the direction of the blow out, possibly hurling you from your ATV.

When one of your ATV's tires blow out, you must be as calm as you can be and deal with it in a rational manner. Instead of slamming on your ATV's brakes, gently apply pressure to brakes-like your squeezing a tube of tooth paste. Do this to slowly gain control of your ATV and the situation in general. When you have gained control, slowly direct the ATV towards a safe area and get ready to deal with your ATV's flat tire.

There are many things you can do to make sure that your ATV's tires do not blow out. One of the most obvious things you can do is check the amount of air in the tires. If your ATV's tires do not have the proper amount of inflation in them, they are much more likely to blow out. Statistically, it is said that tires loose about one pound of pressure every month, so you should always check your ATV to make sure there is enough air in the tires before you ride. It is also a good idea to check your ATV's tires for bald spots, punctures, or gouges. It is a good idea to always check your tires before your ride, and to be overly cautious and observant while your riding over any materials that could cause damage to your ATV tires.
